Sesshin Update: Summer 2020

We made the call a few weeks before this summer’s sesshin to go ahead with it, albeit with serious precautions in place. Even though the COVID cases in Hawaii had stayed low to that point, we still required masks, enforced distancing, and quarantines for the few students who attended from off-island. 

With these safety rules in place we had an extremely sharp and efficient sesshin, ending with the firing of the wood-fired kiln. The training in the kitchen was anchored by Tenzos Yumiko Sayama and Cristina Moon.

This winter’s sesshin will be from November 30th to December 6th. We will be following many of the same protocols from this summer’s sesshin. If you are interested in attending, please let us know as early as possible.
