This year’s annual Zen Art Show & Sale was held November 8-10. Following coverage in The Hawaii Herald and The Honolulu Star-Advertiser, attendance far exceeded our expectations. We estimate as many as 1,000 people came through.

Zen Ken Sho featured the work and life of Jackson Morisawa, a member of the US Army 442nd Infantry Regiment, graphic artist, and founder of Chozen-ji Ryu—Chozen-ji’s school of Kyudo traditional Japanese archery. Personal artifacts, and original and reproduced works of his sumi-e Japanese ink wash paintings were on display and for sale. Calligraphy and ceramics by Chozen-ji priests and students were also sold.
